Police detain interim director of Energy Ministry's firm

MOSCOW, Feb 4 (PRIME) -- The Russian police have detained an interim director of a state enterprise affiliated with the Energy Ministry on suspicion of a 25 million ruble fraud, spokeswoman Irina Volk said on Friday.

According to the police, the detained sent fabricated reports to a company providing vehicle price assessment in 2018–2021. As a result, the vehicles were underestimated by 90% as compared with the market price, which allowed the detainee to sign sales deals without consent of the Energy Ministry. The detainee sold the vehicles at market prices and took some of the difference.

The name of the official was not disclosed.  Kommersant business daily reported that it was Nikolai Myagkikh, head of the Federal Energy Service Company.
